No account, no signup. Visitors open a familiar chat bubble on your site, type their question, and get an answer in real time. A typing indicator, unread badge and optional sound make it feel just like messaging a friend.

The conversation is remembered between visits, and the connection reconnects automatically after a drop — so nobody loses their thread.

For you, the host

Answer from a dedicated desktop app instead of a browser tab: conversation list on the left, active chat on the right. With system notifications, a dock/taskbar unread badge, keyboard shortcuts and an online/offline toggle.

Every message, contact and visitor detail stays on your own servers — GDPR-ready, with no forced detour through a vendor's cloud. You decide where data is stored and processed, which makes access, deletion and retention obligations straightforward to fulfil. (The optional AI chatbot is the one exception: when enabled, the relevant messages are sent to the Google Gemini API.)

Laravel 12 · PHP 8.4+ · PostgreSQL · Laravel Reverb (WebSockets) · Vanilla JS widget with Shadow DOM · Tauri 2 + React / TypeScript. A persistent Reverb process and a queue worker (managed via systemd or Supervisor) keep real-time messaging and background jobs running.

A foundation, not a fixed product: the ready-to-use base is tailored to your brand, workflows and processes — custom features, integrations and bespoke workflows on request.

Deliberate limits

ChatConnect is not an enterprise helpdesk. No ticketing suite, no built-in file attachments or full-text search (yet), and the optional AI uses a single provider. The trade-off is intentional: lean code, fast operation, full data ownership.

License Terms

1. Scope. These License Terms govern the purchase and use of ChatConnect ("Software"), sold by Arts Unique through store.arts-unique.com. By completing a purchase, entering a license key, or otherwise installing or using the Software, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Grant of license. Upon successful payment and license key delivery, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the Software on a single domain. You are purchasing a license to use the Software — not the Software itself. No ownership or intellectual property rights are transferred to you.

3. Activation. Each license key is valid for a single domain installation and activated on first launch. To move your activation to a new domain, contact store@arts-unique.com.

4. Restrictions. You may not redistribute, resell, transfer, or sublicense the Software, its source code, or your license key. You may not share your license key publicly, fork the Software for public release, reverse engineer license enforcement, or circumvent activation. You may not use the Software to offer hosted live-chat services to third parties as a paid SaaS.

5. Updates. Your license is a one-time purchase with no recurring fee. Maintenance and feature updates released within the same major version are included at no additional cost; major upgrades may be offered separately.

6. Support. We provide email support at store@arts-unique.com and aim to respond within 3 business days. Support covers installation guidance and bug reports; it does not cover server administration, custom development, or third-party integrations beyond what ChatConnect ships with.

7. Warranty. The Software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, nor compatibility with any specific hosting environment beyond the documented requirements. Statutory warranty rights under German law and mandatory consumer protection rights remain unaffected.

8. Liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Software shall not exceed the amount you paid for the license. Liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraudulent misrepresentation, wilful misconduct, and liability under the German Product Liability Act remain unaffected.

9. License revocation. We reserve the right to revoke your license with immediate effect and without refund if you materially breach these Terms, distribute or publicly expose your license key or the Software's source code, or use the Software for unlawful purposes.

10. Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the CISG. Place of jurisdiction is Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. The full License Terms apply: store.arts-unique.com/license-terms.

Privacy

Privacy Policy

What the Software does with data. ChatConnect is self-hosted and runs on your infrastructure. We — Arts Unique — do not receive any of the chat data, visitor information, or admin content processed by your installation. The Software contains no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts.

Optional AI chatbot. If you enable the optional AI chatbot, the relevant chat messages are transmitted to the Google Gemini API to generate a response. This feature is off by default; with AI disabled, no chat content leaves your installation.

License validation. When you activate a license, your installation sends the license key to store.arts-unique.com to verify the purchase. The validation result is then cached locally in your installation.

Update checks. Your installation may periodically check store.arts-unique.com for available updates. These checks transmit the current ChatConnect version and your license key — no chat data, no visitor data.

Payment processing. Purchases are handled by Stripe. Their privacy policy applies to all payment data.

Email contact. If you contact us at store@arts-unique.com, your email address is used solely to respond to your inquiry.

Your responsibility as host. Once installed, you are the data controller for all data processed by your ChatConnect instance — including visitor names, messages, contact details and metadata. You are responsible for publishing your own privacy policy and complying with applicable data-protection law (GDPR, etc.) on the website you operate.
